So I am looking at getting new boots for this upcoming season. Any recommendations or brands that have been good to your feet.

icemans. -100 comfort rating. I bought a cheap knock of from sportsmansguide.com for about 1/3 the price, that I have been very happy with. With those, Carhartts, Jocka Polar gloves, and a mad bomber hat, bring on the -35 degree weather!

i'm with slipbob The Cabelas Predator Extreme boots are the best. My dad and i both have a pair, never get cold or wet.

I have the Cabelas Glacier Points... -100, very warm but a little on the bulky side.

mickeys are great but HUGE! great on the ice but clumsy ibn the shanty. i have always bought my boots through LL Bean no matter what brand, however as of late i am less than thrilled with their selection.

I thinking of getting a pair of Sorel Caribou's this year. I usually just wear my 400 gram work boots with wool sock and my feet stay warm as long as I'm walking around every so often. Toes start to get cold after long periods of jigging though.

Was given a pair of Baffin a few years ago that were a size to small. Replaced them with new ones last year during a sale at Gander Mountain. No complaints yet.

Pontiac: I purchased a pair of Sorel Caribou's in Montana when I started graduate school at MSU. Those boots lasted up until last year. Great boot and super warm (Field tested in Montana!

Picked up a pair of Lacrosse Ice Kings to replace them. Nice and warm, but REALLY BIG AND BULKY! I'm always kicking things around the shanty

I had a pair of Rocky boots that i liked.Were warm and comfortable, no complaints.

That's half the fun isn't it? Listening to your friend(s) complain that you knocked something else down the hole. lol

Slipbob, I can't beleive with all the hard work and hunting that you do, that a pair of work boots would last you that long. LOL

As I'm a bucket butt and never use a shanty, the most important thing about boots for me is a nice thick sole. I found that if the soles of my feet are not so close to the ice, my whole foot stays warm. In fact, with new liners in my boots (not packed down), I rarely even wear socks.

just bought a pair of lacrosses -100 pac .nearly i dentical to my old sorel glaciers that have served me well. except i paid $50 instead of $120! awesome sale in sportsmans guide.

I ordered Cabela's Pinnacle Zipper hunting boots with 800 gr and Gore-Tex last night.
They have Scent-Lok, too, and I don't think the fish will smell me.
But then again- I could be wrong.

Has anyone tried them?

I ordered a pair of Browning Pac boots with 800 grams of Thinsulate from Sportsmans guide in the middle of last season. It's hard to find a size 15!

rocky 1200 gm thinsulate is all you need lightweight and waterresistant
