Caught my first ever Brook Trout! Hopefully not beginners luck....

thanks! It was extremely awesome and gratifying to target brookies for the first time and get them. The only thing that was concerning was we caught two in about the first 30 min and then got one more flag 5 hours late and missed him.... twice in the course of 5 minutes haha all in all great day though!

Brookies can be weird just like any other species but they can definately turn "on" and turn "off" like a light switch. I have my best luck first thing in the morning and then mid to late afternoon.

They tasted amazing, I baked them with lemon and capers topped off with some salt and pepper ! Nice and simple

Nice Fish! I have always found with brookies that they come in pairs. If you catch one on a tip up. drop a jig down that hole right away because there is most likely a second one.
