28th Annual PAC Fishing Derby
The 28th Annual Ponnistus Athletic Club Fishing Derby was held on Jan. 5, 2013 on Vermillac Lake in Covington Michigan. Weather conditions and ice conditions were of the best ever. 274 Entrants plied the shallow waters of the lake in search of the winning Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch and Crappie. The following are the champions of the 28th Annual Derby:

The concession stand served food and beverages to the many attendee's and a roaring bonfire warmed the hearts and souls of many.
Door prizes too numerous to mention were distributed to all fisherpersons who had entered the derby. There was also a kid's raffle where separate prizes for the young ones were distributed. Any child that was entered in the Derby were also eligible for the main door prizes as well as all fish categories.
The Ponnistus Athletic Club would like to thank all the business's, organizations, and individuals that donated merchandise and cash to the derby door prizes and fish category awards. Your generosity is overwhelming. Also to all who volunteered in any way to make the derby a reality.
