I'm going to get one of those 5 amp 20 volt Dewalt batteries to go along with my 4 amp. That should last a long day on my Clam Ice drill.

I'm definately in the market for an auger, I been using hand power for decades, age has got me , alot of new stuff out there, I'm interested in some of those battery powered ones but I do catch some Very Large northerns, and Lakers and need a good sized hole, also go through alot of ice , I fish Ft.Peck alot, in some remote areas like Devils creek so no power to recharge batterys , alot to consider.

Got a new Anorakk ice suit from L & M for my birthday.  Picked up a brand-new-in-the-box Eskimo Quickfish 4 at a garage sale for about 1/2 of what they sold for new (when they still made them) and picked up $470 worth of new in the package jigs, line, and accessories (lowest MSRP I could find online later) at the same garage sale for $73 even.  I guess I single handedly caused this ice-less El Nino cycle we are in....we'll never have ice!  I can't decide weather to keep the QF4.  I already have a QF2 and a 949I...........I think I have a problem.  :)

Amen Spitzo!!  Cool to see all the new gear and exciting to see others as anxious as me for the upcoming season. As for me.....no new gear.  But a new lady....who loves to fish! That counts, right?

Yeah way to go Coldhole, good catch  :icefish: I often wonder what it would be like if my "old" lady liked to icefish as much as the boys and I do. But I think our arrangement, of her either at home with a warm house ready for us to return or sitting in the warm hut reading magazines and eating bon-bons, works best for us. I know others, Mike and Cindy for example, that are a great team on the ice. I think I just need a support team,... if not a support group  ;) (iceshanty.com)   :P

I got a new rod to try this year that I'm stoked about. It's called a Tickle Stick. 23" long with the last 6" or so with a flattened taper tip similar to a spring bobber.

Real nice Spitzo, I'm turning from Eskimo red to Ion green with envy  ;D What was the cost on that if you don't mind me asking. I just bought a new throttle lever for my mako and a bucket style rod holder, a couple real big investments I know but that should keep me held over for a bit!

Not really gear, but my wife and I bought a small cottage on Pymatuning Lake in Northwest, PA. Plan to use it as our headquarters for ice fishing. Instead of getting up hours before daylight and driving two hours, I can get up at a more reasonable time.

Yes, maybe a bit overboard Mike. The wife helped with the buying this time & I wasn't gonna argue with her about getting more ice gear - LOL.

Hey Kyle. I got the ION for $455 @ Scheels in Great Falls. Regular price was $530, but I had (2) $25 gift cards & there was an additional $25 discount for customer appreciation days. $75 off, I was happy with that !!

Somebody stole my tackle box that contained all my ice fishing tackle out the back of my truck this summer while I was out on a fire. Shouldn't have left it there but excited to go buy all new tackle

I've been seriously considering an electric auger. Leaning toward the Ion. We'll see..........

I have a ION 8" auger and drilled through 24" of hard ice all day up in Wisconsin last year. Love mine. I do think I will get an extra battery just to be safe though.
