Strike Master Auger Problem
« on: Feb 06, 2005, 07:29 PM »
I was out on the lake yesterday and decided to put a few more hole out deep so i brought the auger out and pulled it, it started and when the pull cord wound in the plastic piece (spool) went sideways locking the rope in place. I took off the gas tank and the top of the auger and i discovered that the metal piece that the spool connects to the top of the auger snapped. The strikemaster auger is less that a month old but i dont have the origional box or recipt, I bought it from sports authority. What Should I Do???

If the place you bought it from will not replace it then contact Strike Master.
They will guide you thru this easily. www.strikemaster.com.
If I agreed with you we would both be wrong!

Take it from me KEEP YOUR BOX and PUT the Receipt in IT.... If nothing else keep the box.... With the box alone you can take it back anywhere for a exchange. I had to take 2 Strike Masters back... The first one did what yours did but it gave me trouble from day one. I had it for two trips then the pulley broke. The second one had gear issues and stayed engaged even when it should have be at idle.... Then I got the GEM Nils Master... No complants accept the price but peace of my isn't cheap. In fact it's Priceless! ;D ;D ;D ;D

I called the store and they did take it back for a full refund but they didnt have anymore >:(So I found a place that sold augers and ended up buying a Jiffy Legend 3HP 10" for about $60 more than the strikemaster. Thanks for your help

I to have had problems with my 10" Strike Master. Purchased last year, used maybe twice.

This year 2nd time out the pull cord broke. Talked to SM. Very understanding. Do to being in a hurry I spent $20.00 for a new spring. Went out, 1st pull and the spring would not rewind :o Man was I P______ssed.
After wasting valuable fishing time messin with the auger I finally got it stared. All of a sudden I noticed when the engine was idling the auger was turning >:(
Now it looks like I have a clutch problem >:(
I have a week off at the end of the month, I'm driving from Chicago to Big Lake Mn to complain.
When I went to a service center in my area they seemed like they didn't want to both with it >:( Seems like it is hard for them to get payed.

Off to Mn
