Chittenden reservoir

Hello Vermont ice goers, looking to come up in a couple weekends for the free weekend and was wondering what the ice conditions were on chittenden reservoir.  Also heard that there are walleye there,  what other species are present?  Thanks any info would be appreciated.

I think it's safe to say that ice conditions aren't great anywhere. Everyone needs to exercise extreme caution and use good judgement. It's been a very mild winter. No body if water I have been on had a good solid base of black ice. The coming week will only make things worse.
Ice fishing is a social activity that may occasionally be interrupted by the catching of fish.

For what its worth, lots of people were fising it today, some snowmobiles and 4 wheelers. About 8 inches weak white ice over about 8 inches clear ice where I drilled. But weather gets very warm and rainy later this week, so ice may not be any good soon... Walleye werent biting today but  yellow perch and big smallmouth bass were.... Good advice from gogetthegaff, ice can change fast with this weather !

Free fishing weekend is the last Saturday in January.

Long term forecasts aren't great for making ice and warming trends will eat away what is there now. There's walleye, bass and perch in chittenden res.

It's more like syrup making weather.

Where are some good points to get on the lake?
