Loomis Ice Rods?

Has anyone ever used these and if so what is the quality of em?

Never have, didnt even know loomis made em.  If they're anything like the open water rods we use for bassfishin id love to try one out!

I own one as of a few weeks ago as does my ice fishing partner...he actually has a few of them. They had a few at BassProShops and a few other retailers few years back, the ones were getting now are custom made

I cant seem to find them on that website, I wonder if they are building their own rods on loomis blanks. If loomis is selling ice rod blanks, I want me some too!

Sorry skip that website only has jigs, my bad but yes they're solid carbon.....when I go in there I'll ask and see if they make em themselves, it kinda looks that way but im not sure.

I have Loomis open water rods but I am a true fan of the Thore Bros Rod for hard water fishing. I think they would be hard pressed to make a better ice rod then the guys at thorn Bros.

I emailed the guys at the Michigantackle.com and they said that they do not carry nor make Loomis ice fishing rods.  To his knowledge he didnt even know if Loomis made blanks for ice fishing rods either.

Sorry all for the mis-conception. I was told by a buddy of mine that they had 'em, I hadn't had a chance to get in there to look for myself yet. So sorry for all the hype.

OK so I went in the shop today to figure out where my buddy got this idea from. And they have the Loomis rods towards the back.....and all the icefishing stuff way on the other side of the store...so theres a rack that says G. LOOMIS in big letters like that lol then behind it theres a wooden rod holder holding ice rods?? Which you would think would be on the other side of the store. Any ways turns out the brand of icerod is J. Hayley still a good quality rod. I'm gonna buy one when I get home from Indiana next week.

The reason Andrew knows about Loomis ice rods, is because they are a Canadian retail only item.  Dont know why, but thats the skinny.  Have called the factory in WA before (couple of years back) and that was the story I got from them.  If they will ship to the states, or if you want to take a drive, the Bass Pro in Toronto has carried them for several years now.  Sometimes you can find them on ebay, but dont count on it.

So far, this seems to be true! I Googled it and G.Loomis Canada does in-fact make an ice fishing rod. No further details just yet. Only specs I received from a site was that it was 30", not sure if there's a line of ice rods or what though. I will definitely be visiting Bass Pro Toronto this year in search of them.
