I agree. I have also seen alot caught the same way at St. Brieux. But I think your better off to wait till late feb/march for them. Seen guys catch 5 fish over 12lbs, with 2 being over 20 in one day. But start at the strap - and put your time in is right!

depends on where u fish, lml has plenty of trophy pike, hit any point where you will usually find walleye or perch and punch a few holes shallower and dump a big smelt of herring on a tip up, sit back and wait.   the same goes for pretty much any lake, just head in a bit shallower where other fish will be holding and wait for the big one.

Mid-February to end of March, hit Regina Beach with a couple tip-ups and some ciscos.  If the Burbot are in, you should be able to find a nice Northern in the 25+ lbs range.

to me anything over 6 months is pretty long to wait considering the cost, both pike we had done by vince west we had our fish back within 8 or 9 weeks

115cms is regs I believe. In fall that is about a 25lbs pike. In winter I imagine he is going to have to be over 30lbs. Fish and game have been out there a few times this year on the flats.

Does it have to be one that you caught yourself, or do you simply want a decent mount to hang on the wall? If the latter then you could advertise for one on the web. Should be some available that people would like to unload for cheap, or maybe even only for the cost of shipping ... just thinking. ???
