No hinge on the tongue?  You will have to unhitch to drop it to the ice?

Thats really nice I have never seen a drop down trailer,But here in PA we cant drive on most of the lakes ice never gets thick enough.I just have a cabala's sled with a box on top all hand painted, when my son gets back from school I will get him to post some pictures of it for this link for me.
May the LORD BLESS and keep each of you safe on the ice.

Gamedog, is ice going to freeze into the hitch area or is the drawbar at a slight angle? might work to raise receiver to top of drawbar instead of in line. beautiful layout. i've heard of drop axles up on Lake of the Woods, Mn, but never seen one ;) ;D

So, when are we going?  ;D :P. The first thing I would do is pour beer all over in it, throw sunflower seed shells all over and grind them in, and you can't forget to trap some good farts in it. You NEED to do this BEFORE you use it. This should give it the well used look and smell that fish crave.  ;D  :roflmao: :roflmao:

One word, WOW. Congrats on a really nice house. How tall did you build it. I picked up a free pop up camper, I gutted it down to the floor, and now Im starting to think about the framing, Im going to  frame it out with metal studs, light weight,  and little wood to rot. I just havent decided on a reasonable height yet. Anyway, nice work.

I build an ice shack on a trailer that I had. It doesn't drop down on ice like yours, I wish it did.  A drop down trailer will be the next one I will build in the future. I used steel siding that I got from menards they cut it to size at no extra charge it worked out great. I will have to take some pics to post.

Great work Gamedog, that's exactly what I was planning on building except mine is a little larger. I couldn't justify the price of trailer materials to the accountant (aka wife) so I am building mine on skids and planning on adding the trailer later. I was hoping you could email me or PM me a list of parts for the trailer axle setup and a diagram if you could to [email protected] I have the farmers ability to "build pretty much anything with nothing at all in no time flat" but not all the equipment for it to happen.

I will have to do a tandem axle since my shack is around 8x16. Here is a link to see my progress http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=59197.0
