Feels great sitting on ice again

3 days in a row now I been sitting on ice. Feels great, 2.5" of ice on my pond and 2.5-3" on a few other private pond I fish. Just be careful out there I know things are starting to lock up but always remember safety first.

Made it out myself this evening on the Sally. They started fishing there on Tuesday. Evening bite has been good and last hr to the time I quit at dark was good. I think I get two more days before the warm up drives us off.

All depends, we had planned on it but last year my son had a basketball tournament and couldn't make it. When is it planned for this year so I can look at his schedule.

Jealous. Scouted some local water before work and found 1 inch of Crystal clear ice. Week of warm-up prob going to keep me off until the next freeze. Gonna take advantage and fly fish next week and chase some winter chrome!

Outdoor Winter Fun!!!!  Come join us at this years Valparaiso Parks/ Friends of Fishing 2018 Ice fishing Derby.   
Date...Jan 20th
Place... Loomis lake @ Rodgers Lakewood park
Fee... 20.00 adult , 
Kids Free.  15 and under free entry with a can goods donation for the local food pantry.
Time...  reg begins at 5am
All fish must be measured by 12 noon.   No late entries please.
Prizes awarded afterward
Prizes will be awarded to the longest measured fish in each category. 
All Indiana state fishing reg apply.
Bass and Walleye can be measured and released if below required length

Proceeds from this event will help fund our annual spring Take a Kid fishing derby.
