That looks pretty cool!
You never know, you might have a market for ice shack stoves?

Good luck!  :)

today i trimmed out the door (its hard putting a flat door on a round surface) and also cut out the ash pan door not sure how in going to finish that off so it looks good?  oh and still brainstorming on how to get a 3in pipe out the back with a 90 degree elbo without losing room in the shanty?

If you fabricated a flat Rectangle elbow instead of a round elbow and converted it back to round above the top of the stove , you might save 2 or 3 inches They sell square to round adapters for installing wood stoves in fireplaces, the rectangle shape fits thru the damper plate hole better. just my.02

does it HAVE to come out the back? might be a silly ? but i have never made a wood stove or fished in a shanty with one for that matter, but, you would think it would serve the same purpose coming out the side as it would coming out the back.. then you could use some elbow pieces to make it inch its way more towards the back once its made its way back to the top of the tank.i dunno, maybe thats too much bending etc, but once the pipe gets hot it should pull the smoke up just the same.

I love the Brake Rotor Hotplate, that is true NH Redneck Technology at it's Finest, you can't buy a wood stove with that kind of style  !!  :roflmao:

I believe it, I think they use a 2 part epoxy to coat them with so they resist chipping and peeling ! I'm thinking a fan and respirator are definately a good idea ! Good luck !

Pretty clever design too, a lot of the small thin stoves that you find in shanties tend to warp and burn out quickly, I don't see that happening to your unit ! ;D  Any guess on finished weight ?

the last piece of wood went in at 11:20  and all vents got shut down. at 5:00 still had hot ash in the stove and it was hot to the touch. pretty proud of this one.

yes that is a brake rotor on top. i did a trial burn last sunday, it it took 15 min to perk  a pot of coffee. i was a lil concerned about the rotor not allowing the the top to get hot enough but the temp hovered around 450 - 500 degrees.
