Anyone been out in SE Nebraska or Douglas/Sarpy/Lancaster Cou.?  Wondering about ice at local lakes like Wehrspann, Youngman, and Wanahoo...

Walnut Creek (Papillion) is still over 50% open.  It is locked up on the southwest "arm" (which doesn't see much fishing traffic due to walking distance from parking areas), but I have no idea what thickness.  What is locked up has snow (aka insulation) on top and there is an old creek channel that meanders through where the ice is sure to be thin.  If I were going out this weekend, I'd look for smaller, shallower bodies of water and I'd have all my safety gear at the ready.

Good lookin' Nate. Good report too. Thanks. I went to Youngman Lk. and it was fishable. Mostly locked up except a SW portion midlake. Did not drill nor take spudbar so not sure of ice thickness. I will have all my safety gear on and ready!
