made it to burchard for awhile this morning. the gate is open ! ! ! the road is clear all the way to the boat ramp parking lot. lake ice was a solid 6" in the area we were fishing. the bite was VERY SLOW, managed to catch just a few small - medium bluegills on wax worms & jigs in 16 FOW. there were only a few shanties on the ice @ 9:00, most were gone by 11:00. so i'm guessing they either headed to another lake or home. we spent a good share of our time just holding the portable down ( even with ice anchors). HEY, it was better than sitting home looking out the window.
