I wanted to try Otsego this Sunday, any ice conditions after this snow would be greatly appreciated.

I have a snowmobile and would like to hop on the lake on the Cooperstown end somewhere around Blackbird Bay if possible. If there is another location some where close by to park the truck that would be awesome.

I would def agree. I would not go to Otsego just to target the eyes. you will be disappointed. I was there today and the conditions are not pretty unless you like 1'+ of snow and 6" of slush. 14" of ice though

Those conditions are definitely not favorable for this older gentleman, sled or no sled. Thanks for the heads up.

walk out wasn't to bad. On my way out I see a flag and no one else there but me. Walked over and chipped it out of the ice. Some one must of forgot it the day before. I will try to look them up but if you are on ice shanty pm me and maybe we can meet up there.

I was out of Glimmerglass Saturday, ice conditions were ideal for all modes of transportation, foot, sled or wheelers. 18+ inches of ice everywhere we drilled. We went 3 for 7 on the Lakers (21", 21", 24"), not bad for our first time on Otsego or Lakers through the ice. Good luck out there!

Otsego has perch . Hard to find the schools of them but when you do its hot and heavy till they move . Me and my buddy got in to them good one day . About 20 - 30  Nice jumbos each in about an hour and a half .

I remember reading here that the Lake Trout are very skinny due to lack of forage. Guys were catching them in shallower water that attributed them to chasing perch. Just trying to connect the dots.........

Same here have not seen a perch or a pickeral this year yet and I have plenty of time on the ice there, Friggen laker fest though. Have had tip ups from 8 to 40 feet and catching lots of short lakers

I set my tip ups for the mixed bag, rarely jig for lakers not a fan of the mud shark, if it allows get one tip up in under 10' and set the rest accordingly and see what pans out. Past couple years could catch perch on the reg not one this year ??? ??? and 3-4 years ago pickerel were normal with at least two three a day none so far and one last year about 12"  Good luck gonna head out midday today.
