I did that last season, and it works to keep the áuger from skating but since it doesn't have the cutting head ring it doesn't cut has smooth.

Anyone tried this on the pistol bit? Possible?

I recently had my Pistol bit apart ..If I was to add a point to a non center point Pistol bit model I would get one from Adisam the  34301 KIT HEX POINT WITH HARDWARE ..the case that holds the point fits the hexagon shaft..the bolt holds the bottom as well as the point/case ...I think you could dremal/cut a slit to accommodate the point . You could also buy the bottom and forgo cutting the slit .

This may also work for the 6" Pistol Bit ...If the hexagon shafts are equal in diameter to the 8" model .
