Snowdogs in Wisconsin

If this is a dumb question, I apologize.  With that said, for those in Wisconsin, does a homemade snowdog need to be registered in our state?

It seems that Wisconsin defines a snowmobile as something with a track and skis, so I'd argue that registration is not needed.

when i called the dnr a couple years ago they said ,no does not need to be registered . said you can use it on private property and frozen lakes. cannot use it on any snowmobile trails.
