Anybody fishing around Prairie Lake?  Wondering if we can get on the ice via the launch down there.  Never tried in the winter.

I haven't been down there yet this year but the launch is usually good access

How's the ice by Sask Landing?  Thinking about heading out tomorrow.

13" of ice in Danielson park. We are technically skunked 9 to 11 am as there is no nibble at all. There must be a few bottom huggers as we have proof of a 18 inched walleye snagged in the fin.

A few trucks are on ice on the west end of Gardiner dam.

Fished Coteau today. Slow, seen a few perch. 18 inches of solid ice. Insanely slippery on the ice.

Going to give it another try tomorrow!

Had a productive day with jpicks.  What a beautiful day to be on the lake!  We ended up with a pike, a few walleye and about 10 real nice jumbo perch.  Fishing was pretty steady for us until about 3:30 and then they just turned off.  Here is the big perch for me on the day.  It measured in at 13.25"

Anyone fished dog leg or any of the other coulees yet? Just wondering about ice thickness in particular but also access and the bite? Thanks in advance!

spent the whole day on Sunday out in front of Danielson. first trip this year.7-430. super windy as usual.22-24 fow marked fish all day most were perch and whites. lots of perch were caught a handful came home. 1- 3lb white, and 2 small pike. lost a walleye in the hole and another just below the hole. been happening more than i would like to admit  lol. anyway lots of ice 17-18" quite a ways out . no trucks driving out that i could see maybe at coteau? but did see some older tire tracks going on.? there is a nice skiff of hardened snow 1-2" on the surface which made it easier to walk. looking forward to more trips this year and taking the sled for more exploring in different areas.  just because i don't trust that lake for taking my truck on. and travelling a great distance.

Ok...nice post but we as Deif. fisher folks may be confused about which Danielson you mean...there is the west Danielson park boat launch which many also call Couteau Bay....and then there is the Danielson East launch. Maybe im the only one that get confused...lol. thanks

I’ve always known it to be Danielson. I know its called Danielson Provincial Park both on the east and west side where the visitor centre is.and If we were ever fishing on the that side we just called it Couteau. Of course that was 30+ years ago. Lol. Haven’t been up to date what the new names are. Or what people are calling it.

. Seen 3 others where I was yesterday and could see what looked to be 3-4 shacks and possibly trucks over in front of coutau.

Fished elbow marina yesterday. Caught one 9lb burbot and 7 perch in 27fow. Kind of slow but if you move you can find them.

Hey Evan, This lake should freak you out!! Last one to freeze over, first to break up in the spring, natural springs everywhere and methane gas pockets scattered throughout. I would recommend going somewhere close by for your first time out until you start to learn the lake. I have never fished pumphouse bay, but Couteau Bay is quite popular and has easy access.  You’ll be able to walk out and find water that is deep enough without going too far. I was out last weekend and found water close to where I was fishing that was 76 feet. Ice is pretty consistent 12-15” on the lake now. Thicker in some spots.  Good luck. Let us know how you do!

I pulled my shack onto Coteau last Sunday with a 3/4 ton. A good 15" where I drilled. Mine was only the 2nd shack near the channel where it opens up to the bay.

One truck was on ice right in front of Gardiner Dam on the eastern side on Sunday, and plenty of trucks on the the western corner of dam near the visitor center.

Truck in front of dam went on lake at danielson and followed shore to east pump house bay and then along dam.

I was out south of danielson on Sunday 800 until 1200. One perch on a dead stick minnow and a few whites on camera. Too cold fish outside of tent and to stubborn to move
