We did alright at green glade today.  Had 35 flags and caught 27 fish.  Brought home 12 perch 10 inches or bigger,  one 22 inch walleye, and 5 nice picks.  It was one of the slowest days at deep creek I have had.

Coming down deep creek to visit some family next weekend.  Wasn't sure how the lake managed this rain we just got. Bringing the ice gear with me.  Never ice fished it but def fished in the fall and summer alot.  Was thinking about going out from the state park.   Has anyone been out there yet? Is it? and do you think it will still be safe till next Saturday?   Any advice will be appreciated.

Ice will still be good. 6-7 inches where I fished yesturday and most was all good black ice. Lots of water on the ice but it's suppose to freeze every night from today till next weekend If the weathermen are correct.

Does anyone know how the ice is in McHenry cove?  I was up last Thursday and had a good day.
We caught 14 perch, 4 pickerel, and 3 walleye.
I was thinking about coming up this Thursday.

I called a couple of bait shops down there and they didn't know what the ice was like. What bait shops are best for getting reports?

There is Deep Creek Outfitters Hardware and Bait in McHenry too. I've talked to them about ice conditions and what not. They didn't seem very knowledgeable about the happenings on the lake though.  hesseltine32 introduced me to Nickelos, not a lot or tackle and gear there but seemed like a reliable bait source!

Fished Sat 1/18 thru the 20th. Had consistent action with jumbo perch and except for one keeper, 8 short walleye on the tip ups in 35 FOW. Picked up some perch and a couple eyes on perch patterned chubby darters too. Perch disgorged fingernail clams and walleye, fingerling perch. Got a pic which I'll upload as soon as I figure out how

When I left today roads had snow on them 219 wasn't bad though. Most snow was drifts from the wind. Hard to tell how much snow fell as the wind was rippin pretty good all day. Still snowing at 430 when getting off the ice.

Fishing was pretty slow. Couldn't seem to find the fish although I didn't get to move around as much as if like to as it was just miserable with the wind and dragging through the drifts sucked.  Need a warm up to get the snow off the ice.

I fished the state park today.. never got a bite.. straight out from the docks.. we didn't know where to go never been there before.. 8-12" of ice.

also fished mchenry. fell straight through up to my knees. not sure if it was from a snowmobile going in or someone drilling numerous holes too close to each other..

Very slow day overall. Ed

Fished mchenry on Saturday, beautiful snowy day, got 2 good size perch, 4 smaller ones and three walleyes 14 inches each, it was my debut on deep creek and I loved it.

Sounds like you had a good day out there vasea.  There is some beautiful fish in that lake.  I just wish I didn't live so far away from it.

I have access to the lake off of Stump Point.  I haven't seen this location mentioned and was wondering if anyone knew what the ice was like down that far.  With the weather I would think it was safe but didn't want to assume.

Made the trip yesterday to try the water. Went to GG n just set up but I didn't have batteries for minnows till later so a lot died leaving me with about 7 live ones for tipups. 3 tips outside produced 5 flags and two perch. One fish almost emptied the spool! lol Waxworms and teardrop jig inside produced 3 perch and 1 baby walleye, (6-7in). Felt like I could have done a lot better if the minnow situation was better...I had to fish dead minnows on some tipups so id still have a few for the rest of the day. Slow but at least I finally caught a walleye!
.
Y'all catchin?
