I like that idea. Doesn't win any beauty contests but looks very functional.

The anchors I use are sometimes hard to get started, but after putting alittle muscle :flex: into it,  they go in easy!

The same is true on mine. But the way I look at it, the less time I spend Screwing around with them the more time I have to catch the big one!

I took an old hole saw and cut a notch in it that the anchors slide into.  Attach that to the ol Dewalt and I can have everything anchored down on 2 minutes!  Doesn't look pretty but it definitley does the job! @)

if you do have a hard time take a hammer and tap them in first a little than they will screw right in.. :)

I used a piece of 1" round aluminum and milled a 1/2"  slot in the end about 2 1/2 " long..... cut the rod off
at five inches in length and turned down the other end to fit in a 1/2" battery drill....    works fine for me. :icefish:

This works best for me. Just use you auger and drill at least 2 holes (I do 4 hole when it is really windy) and set them down under the ice and tie off your house to it.  Don't have to carry extra tools or have the ice break around the ice anchor.

I thought about that doing that. Just didn't want 2 or 4 10" holes immediately beside the tent for someone to fall in.

I use real ice climbing screws. They are expensive, but once paid for, you'll never need to buy them again. And once you use them, you'll realize they are are light years above and beyond any other way to anchor to the ice.

Quote- fishslap: I use a variety:  whistlin' bungholes, spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin' kitty chaser
