How soon do perch need to be cleaned if frozen?
« on: Jan 22, 2012, 10:53 PM »
I only brought home a few today and I'm going out tomorrow morning, so I thought that I would wait to clean them all together.  If they remain frozen do they need to be cleaned right away?

My grandfather told me when he was younger they would leave fish in the snowbanks and clean them in the spring. Snowbanks dont last that long anymore though

I like to wait a day because it makes them easyer to clean and because when I get home after fishing all day I'm to tired to clean a mess of fish. So they will be fine fore a day

When you sell perch they pack them in ice, they don't want you packing them in snow. I pack them in crushed ice and put them in the fridge and clean them next day. I have used snow before that will keep them from freezing out side, but I try to avoid that if possible.
