Heard there's good ice in shallow and 6"+ out deeper. Leave your truck at the launch! Maybe some slush to deal with too (as usual)... Good luck.. Opening weekend there is a blast!

Isn't ice fishing a social event? ha  But no the fish will eat anything if you can find them!

makes me think of south bay the other day ...looked like 30 shanties and 10 vehicles out there !
all i could think of was a big party instead of fishing  ::)
but ya the they bite better the first few weeks for sure ...usually

Is anybody having any luck catching smelt up at Caspian?  I went up this past weekend and couldn't find to many and they didnt seem to interested in my bait.  Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.
