Looking for some help on where to find the trout this time of year. Would really love to catch a brookie thru the ice this winter to take that off the list of fish thru the ice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay.

Alberta pond is great through the ice... for about 2 weeks after they stock it. I was there Thursday (1/31) and we only got small perch, gills, and bullhead. Never got those out there before, but I haven't fished it in 3 years either.

Try fishing on the great lakes near stream or river mouths. I have caught salmon, brook trout, brown trout and steelhead. On a jig pole use a orange or red teardrop with a waxie or wiggler. On tip ups I use a spawn bag and fish it right on the bottom with a tip up.

I've got the browns and steelhead pretty much pin pointed recently due to not being able to drift the river cause of the cold. Got 4 browns and a steelhead this previous weekend. I've got ever species of trout but a brookie thru the ice now it's time to chase one of them down.
