Temps arent really too good, I think it might be one those years, ice fishermen will be joining the Tigers and Lions in the year that never was. I really hope these weather people turn out to be wrong. Well enjoy the hot weather.

come on man chin up..its not even firearm deer season yet.haha.plenty of time to cool off still. now around January if its still warm I will start to worry a little.

he just had a good year of steel heading in his blood and want another like the one year we did not get ice.. tell you the truth the reason that whole thing with no ice happen a asteroid hit the sun and sent a solar flare across the earth which warmed the earth a tad for the whole winter. according to that years solar predictions... which caused awesome steel heading even had a awesome time at flat rock steel heading the weather was perfect year for there and the lake Erie tributaries.... which is unheard of most of the time in the universe we live in....

according to accuweather no constant below freezing period until mid december we probably won't be fishing till january this year

What's new? Can remember 3" of good clear ice Thanksgiving weekend but that was 20-30 yrs ago. It'll be after the Bowl games at least, again. 69* overcast and sticky @ 11 AM

i still remember the winter 2011-2012 didn't ice fish until january the 3rd on only 3 or 4 inches, please not that again

They say the last El Nino was 1997, I wasnt that into ice fishibg then, but remenber February being very warm. Does anyone recall what ice conditions were like in 97' ?

seems like maybe 5 years ago, the ice was early, then left, them had a partial recovery and started to leave again and finally was back for the duration.
i know the wind played into it big time. kept making heaves or overlapped ice that was bad.

yep I remember it.. I thought it was 4 years ago.i steelhead fished till the 10th of January that year and only had 5 inches of ice to drill thru all ice season after that.rain kept melting the ice and it kept having to start over.pretty bad ice fishing season but was a great steelhead year.

that is the same year se Michigan had no ice it was caused by a so called solar flare from a asteroid they blamed it all on.... I steel head fished all the way threw February on the Huron just south of Detroit on all places that year did really well if any thing...

Don't get me started on that guy! Lol. But you're right. Some make the big bucks and they're usually wrong. I'll keep praying to the god Lord for some colder weather, but I think most people are loving this warmth around here.

lots of 20's over nite and not much warmer in the day time.
looks like 4" of snow by sunday morning.
but a warm up in another week to melt away any ice.
