Winter wonderland on the way to work this morning.  :thumbsup:  All the ponds are skimmed, and I'm on the coast. You guys in the north portion of the state should have some ponds to choose from this weekend. Of course, be careful and check the ice as you go.

I just got home from fishing in the NW corner. 3 + inches under me, and making ice all day and night. Got a couple bass and a few pondies

I could have skated on my deck this morning, but the pond on the way to work was still pretty much wide open.  I'm on the coast though so we always freeze up last.  I'm looking to get out Sunday possibly if anyone wants to shoot me a pm if they find some good ice tomorrow.  I'm just one guy (and possibly a friend) jiggin, might keep a couple perch but mostly catch and release.  I have a couple lakes to check but really only started heading northwest in the last couple years so I definitely don't know the ins and outs of what locks up first.  :tipup:

I do love it, but these were just 1.5-2 hour trips after dropping my son at daycare. Darn lake is too close to not sneak out for a bit!

Found about 4 inches of black ice Sunday afternoon, got 5 mini crappie a perch and a couple gills, no dinner but feels real good to be on the ice so early.
