Just an update from Lagrange co.
Lost the top 4” inches of junk and holding at 9” of good ice….
HOWEVER….
I just walked out to a dark spot on Adam’s and it’s a 3’ diameter hole and looking like a toilet!
6” holes from the guys fishing last night out there are well over a foot to 18”.
Edges are beyond junk and some are just open water for 2’.
Temps dropping they will cap and then fresh snow on top tonight. Yikes!
So the spud bar is back in play.
I wanted to drive the atv out after perch this weekend but with what I just saw that’s a no go! The lake I want to fish has more holes than this one and one of those would eat a front tire and suspension.
So be safe, be smart it’s that time of year again. Another season winding down. I think last ice is more dangerous than first.
Last night at 8 pm me and my dogs were walking on this channel……that little pine tree in the pic is usually about 4’ from the waters edge, and my boat was beached high and dry!
Again
Yikes!
