Here is a couple pics of my sled.. It isnt 100% finished yet but as it sits it will pull everything that we need for a day on the ice.. I will have to get some pics of it when it is all loaded up,We pull it behind the snowmobile so and it does great.. Matter of fact i am a big guy and i rode in it for 12 miles round trip to get to the lake last weekend...
And the best part of it all is it was 100% free for me to build and i had it done in less then 2 hours..

My otter Medium sled was too big and bulky for early and late season run an gun. I picked up a Glide lite sled on sale and got started on some mods.
Used an old turkey hunting ground pad, the hard bucket lid just doesn't cut it !

Out on her maiden voyage.

I, for one resemble that remark.  ;)
I'm really surprised no one has posted their sleds in the last two years.   :o
Anywho, after reading thru all of these posts, I'm bringing it back to the top, as its just that important for those of us who are just starting to consider building our first sled.

Here is the Smitty Sled I just built, my first stab at a Smitty (THANKS SMITTY!!!)

Skis are 5' long, uprights are 9" tall, wide of cross members are 4' and skis are positioned 3' apart. I reinforced the 1x6 cross members with 1" square aluminum tubing in order to keep it very light.

My first go at the Smitty sled.  It is 8" off the deck of the skis.  Very easy pull with 4 guys gear on it with a 3 man hub shelter.  Total cost was $19.

Built 3 years ago. Probably have made 6 over the years. Aluminum round, 6' long. Bent to slide down along sled, holes drilled in handle to hold rods that have cup hooks screwed in end of rods to hold rods when away from box. Handle pulls up to pull sled, keeps from tipping over. Works quite well.
