A pretty simple sled cover. I am trying to make the most of all storage areas available.

Hi WinaukeeBoys    Happy New Year.

You say simple, but it is still very very effective. I like how you used the flat space on the under side of he lid.
If it works and works well for you.. it is not simple, it is a build well completed.

Hi  GuinnessGuy

Neat idea and set up. Ever heard of a place called Cabela's... LOL ... just kidding.

Question = Why is one side open and the other side Crisscross?  Is is it for support?

I like the way you have your Skies, it is  something I really have to look at closer. My sled pulls really nice on hard snow, ice and even on bare pavement .... But it does not pull worth a dang on the little deeper or deeper snow, at all.
Thanks for showing us your sled. I bet it pulls really nice.

Have a happy and great New Year.

We do not use a sled but mount a shopping cart on the front instead.  it works very well.

Mad,
We do drive it on the road here.  They do allow them, but the island of Put-in-Bay is only about 5 miles long, and there are very few people in the winter months.  The cart lifts on and off easily after removing 2 bolts.  We just put new lights on it because the light on the quad shines thru the cart and it is tough to see where you are going.  Here is a pic of my son & his quad infront of a house built out of an old ore freighter, once owned by Henry Ford.  I took the other other pic from my plane last tuesday.  You can see the island is pretty small.

Someone asked if that was a solar panel on top of my sled.  It is in fact a solar panel that keeps my battery which is located under the finder charged all season.  The transducer is on the end of that swing arm sticking up off the back.  I turn it down to the surface of the water.  This sled was made 20 years ago and has worked perfectly.

Hi  "Mcduff1313"

Very nice set up. I like how small you were able to keep it and still have it working for you. (Including the carrying of your tent)
If a person looks at it real fast and not paying attention , I think there first thought might be that it may have a major tip over factor..... but .... but if one looks a little longer ( into the snow) you have figured that one out and extended the left pipe ski (wider wheel balance sort of speak) to counter act the weight and balance of the unit with the tent on the side of it..
How does it pull in the deeper snow?

Question:  Mr. Mcduff1313, Seeing that it has been this size for over 20 years. May I ask what you haul it in, to and from the Ice? And... And ... how did you keep yourself from getting " Two Foot ides" ( Know what I mean Vern?) That feeling always having or wanting to ADD MORE!!  ... LOL ...
Have you ever given it a thought to add or change the tow rope to a solid tow handle?

I am impressed, a very clean unit indeed. Thank you for sharing your Pictures. (Handshake)  Well done sir.

Thanks for the nice comments AltaIce.  The skis are 1/2 conduit.  They are actually the same length the left one just appears longer in the pic.  The sled is very stable and pulls very easily even though it is heavy.  Only about a 1/4 of the conduit meets the ground or ice.  You have to hold it back going down hill or it will take off on you, if the bottom of a hill is clear I let it go. I haul a single burner stove, coffee pot, stereo IPOD dock, 7" color TV, Mess kits, and complete tackle selection and gear and ice auger.  I don't always take everything  it just depends on how long I will be out.  The tow rope is perfect because you can toss it up on the sled.  The shanty is 20 years old as well, its a two man and does the job.

Hi " One last cast "

Love the way you used the PVC.  Excellent! You made it work for you.
In the last pic it shows, how you used the elbows and pipe to hold your shanty in a
great hauling position, with the ability to remove it fast... sweet idea!
(( ... LOL ... I see you adding more to it soon ... you got the bug! ))  Have fun with it.

Nice changes, OLC
