Building the Mammoth Shack
« on: Jan 24, 2003, 10:53 AM »
I am looking for anyone that might have any ideas on how to build the ultimate shack.  We are looking at being able to put 2  4-wheelers in the back of it and then make that area into a bunkroom when we are on the ice.  Any ideas.  If I can get some drafted i'll post them but need some tips.

The guys on Simcoe had Quanset hut type shacks that were about 10' wide x 20' long..heated etc.  with bunks..but they moved them with 10 passenger snow cats!

I've often thought that if you were gonna build a shack you could use insulated aluminum garage door panels for the exterior walls and possibly the roof...they're light and have good structural qualities...

Good luck!
