One Special Walleye

Seven years ago my best friend and I were out Walleye fishing while his wife had to get her mother to give her a ride home from the hospital with their newborn.  Naturally we got yelled at but it was worth it because we landed some fish.  We couldn't resist taking a picture of baby Joey with one of our catch:



Tonight we came full circle and 7 year old Joey iced his first Walleye out of the same hole in the river his father and I we were fishing 7 years ago!:



This kid didn't stand a chance.  With a Father like his and a step uncle like me, the boy was born to fish!



The Captain only managed one little skipper and he had to work for it.  It spit the hook in the hole and I did the arm plunge, pinned it to the side of the hole and then worked it up out of there.  It worked but I had a wet arm for the rest of the night.  Try that with a six inch hole  ;D

Hey Capt. a pike is a pike and an "eye" is an "eye". Nice job. Classic story with the newborn. Awesome to see it come full circle. Congrats to the boy. :clap: :clap:

I can remember seeing that photo of the newborn with the walleye. Full circle awesome. I'll bust ya nuts for the fire on the ice tomorrow. Hope Big Scott doesn't fall in the hole. :P See you in the AM! :tipup:

We had to sneak that photo by mom.  Luckily she was pretty tired out from the walk home from the hospital  @)
