Yeah Cody, me and a buddy are headed up there this up coming weekend. The anxiety about the conditions is killing me. I think were going to head up and if the daga is open water we will drive till we find ice. lol. We're in Mass so its not as far as philly, but in the same boat as far as time, money and just wanting to fish.

That's what you needed to hear right there Cody. If you want a guarantee it will cost you much more then 500 and it will be in Canada.

Yes. The Northville end. Some of the shorelines and bays. Best advice would be to check with bait shops and also fish where others are fishing. They will love me for that...lol...h2l

Can anyone point me in the right direction on sacandaga. I would like to visit it for the first time. Interested in catching above your average size pike. Will also do some night walleye trips. Parking with a trailer a option? Any tips on where to start my auger up? I got plenty of room in the shanty if anyone who fishes it regularly wants to join. Just moved to Herkimer.  Hard to give up lake ontario but I think I'll start here in my efforts.

Some people fear the competition?  Haha.  Never been but I picture a lot of shanties being out. Chaumont on a weekend up north is crazy if you show up late.

one thing you don't have to worry about is not finding a spot to fish on the sacandaga.  most shanties out there are permanent. not a ton of guys that fish it for a day here or there......

More likely to catch a fish at delta vs sacandaga. The didn't nickname sacandaga the dead sea for nothing.  ;)

Just took a ride to the lake ....looks like most is froze over .... saw 2 guys fishing by Mcmurry's camp ground off Lakeside Rd Broadalbin
