ANY SALMON THROUGH THE ICE?
-
Budbucket,
We do catch Silvers and Kings through the ice. They are hatchery fish dumped in the local lakes to help keep us happy. The bummer is they rarely get above 10" or so. They will however hit anything that moves under the ice, VERY aggresive! We did catch one that was over 20" last weekend, hope to see more of them :'(

Missfishylishious, Barley is my best fishing buddy! He's a 3 year old Yellow with a great big heart. His favorite "job" on the ice is to fetch up fish, (even slimy Pike) from the tip-up to shanty. He'll pick up bait saving a trip to the shanty from the hole, (if needed), spare tip ups, poles, you name it. He'll bring it back to you with a pretty soft mouth too! I would never trust him with a sandwich he's not stupid! We usually don't get any other fishermen out on the lakes that I ice fish, soooo his art of "thieving" other fishermens catches is limited, (Not to say he has never performed this task before!) ;)
