Any West side ice fishing?
« on: Jan 14, 2006, 08:40 PM »
Any body on the West side of the mts. been ice fishing?  I don't think there is much hard water on the East side with all the Chinooks.  I went to Lake Mary Ronan last weekend.  There was about 9 inches of ice, 2" of snow and a skim of water between but we have had rain this week.  I did well on perch in about 20' of water to the left of the boat ramp both days-even caught a couple of 12" salmon.  Used a flasher lure with  a water boatsman #14 fly tipped with 2 maggot dropped about 9" below the flasher lure.  With this warm weather, we better not wait.

I've been to Georgetown Lake a couple times recently and there was about 14" of ice with a couple inches of snow on top. Caught some little Rainbows and a couple Salmon. We've been ling fishing at Clark Canyon a little bit too. There was 14" of ice when we were there last week. Between the three of us we caught 4 ling and lost a couple.
