DARK..........house????

I'm posting this because I have been taught that you need 100% darkness in your shanty so that you don't reflect anything into the water. Now with that said I have a Permanent and I make sure that every single bit of light is plugged up(even the pin holes) and I see that many use portables and all the portable shanty's that I have been in have at least some light coming in. So my question is what is your tolerance for light coming in 

Mine is zero tolerance but I'm asking this because I wanted to know if it is a must to be 100% dark

If im spearing or sight fishing, it needs to be pitch black, but if im just jiggin and watching the vex I like to have windows open

As long as it's dark enough to see into the water and will not cast a shadow, you ok.  I make sure that the sun is not shining onto the spear hole or reflecting into it.  I like mine as dark as possible, but it doesn't have to be totally dark.  My uncles shack leaves alot to be desired by way of holes and letting light in.  It is honeycombed w/ pinholes and has fist sized holes all over, yet he spears more pike than anyone I know.  Just my $.02.

not necessary to be totally dark....if you can see the fish you're good....nothing to it....

Higgins, you are correct!!!
Ive seen a lot of folks that spear on youtube with out being 100% dark.
Who can figure.
Maybe in dirty water it doesn't matter much.
I, like you, want it 100% dark.
