Turnout seemed lighter than last year, but it was good from what I could see.
Winning fish was 3.6 pounds/20" I think

Congrats mj and was a pleasure to meet you. Doesn't seem to be a very active pond for fish but the derby seemed to be very organized and a great setup with pretty good prizes well worth the trip.

Not a fast action lake by any means, but it's sort of my home away from home lake!
Having a camp there, and having had family there for many years,I have spent many hours of open water fishing there with good catches.
Through the ice it's a totally different!
As the kids board show we'd the bass both largemouth and smallmouth are there,as are trout, but I think the balance has changed over the last decade or so with bass making a large jump in numbers for some reason.
The schools of Fallfish and pond shiners we caught as kids seem to be gone,as are a lot of the frogs!
White perch and yellow perch are still there but seem to be smaller.
Not sure if natural selection is the cause or something else!

Take your kids hunting and fishing!
