trout on st cat are hitting at every depth right now caught some 50 ft down, 10 ft down, on the shore and in 8 ft of water,the secret seems to be  1.big bait 2. shot of bourbon and 3. now here is the important one, almost guaranteed to get a trout flag when you need to take a leak! not even kidding happens everytime lol. soon as your in mid stream ..... FLAG!

lol  now you talking like medium shiners or bigger  shiners  one of the things i think  why we are not hitting trout is where we put our shanty  we are on sunkin island  so im thinking we need to  fish off of island i am going to be out there sunday if it isnt  to  frigging cold but hey thats what the shaty is for lol

I've caught mine about 10 feet under the ice.  Shouldn't matter what the lake depth your fishing when their cruising the top like that.  It will depend on where the alwives are schooling though.

well where they schooling LBD lol  im going to move our shanty tomorrow night back where we usely put it lol allways had pretty good luck there  so i will post  and let yea know how we do sunday  thats if we go sapose to be real cold
