Eating on Deep Creek
« on: Dec 19, 2016, 07:22 PM »
Does anyone know if it's ok to eat your catch while fishing deep creek?  I have a portable stove I like to bring.  Also, is it ok to drink beer?  I know I can while in a boat on deep creek, just not sure about ice.  Thanks
Does it involve catching fish?  I'm in!

Don't know about the eating part but I don't think you are suppose to drink as I believe the lake is considered part of the part.  Not 100 percent on that though just what I was told.

No drinking on dcl under any circumstances. It is a state park. However while the cat is away the mice will play.

I'm not the drinker...I actually was asking for a friend.  I called DNR field office and they said it was cool to eat fish as long as bodies can be identified.

Usually it's ok to eat any legal fish as long as it can be identified and the length can be measured.   Eat the fish flesh but keep the body/bones in tact.   It's the same for salt water fishing.

I drink beer on deep creek lake pretty much every time I'm ice fishing. Have had my cooler checked multiple times by the park rangers/ fish commission and never had any problems. If drinking anywhere on the lake isn't legal that's news to me
