went to Watchhaug first thing this morning place was to scary for me open water ice varying from 6  to 1  inches and open water in spots so I packed up and went to Barbers instead had a great day set up 2 tilts and jigged the same hole all day  bullheads of one of the tilts jigged 1  trout 1  pick 1 bass 25 crappie 4 perch and a plethora of gills and didn't set the tilts until later in the afternoon fished with some guys and the day was good

I would be interested to see what came out of Watchhaug.
I've seen some big fish there.

i did not fish there today but in the past south of the boat launch in that deep water I have done verywell

Years ago, my wife almost broke the RI black crappie record in that pond. We put the fish in a cooler and about 4 hour's later decided to bring it to gannsett to "The Top of the Dock" , which was the only authorized weigh station opened at the time. 1/4 oz shy. I'm thinking if there was ice in the cooler she would have at least tied it or broken it.

For those of you that fish ,be really careful. It takes awhile to get it to fully ice up. I can only remember one time in the last 25 years that it  fully iced up. Then again there was only 4" in the middle.

Always good fishing with you.  With the weather coming in, overcast and snow/ice, etc....
