Southland Earth Auger Jerry Rig to Ice?

Hello,

My dad bought an auger to dig some holes, the Southland Earth Auger, and he didn't realize until now this one might now be convertible to using an ice bit. Does anyone know of a way to jerry rig this into that safely? The other one that could be from them was out of stock atm. Maybe just ask for a swap? Thanks in advance!

Easy stuff usually..

Arsidam made an earth, and an ice, the only difference was the bit, and the sticker, one says Eskimo, the other says, Earthquake...

Get an ice bit attached, it will obviously have to turn in the same direction, not all bits turn clockwise..

not positive but I think earth augers have different jets in the carbs being most are used in less than freezing temps and ice augers are jetted for cold weather,but I don't see why one couldn't tweak the carb adjustments to get it to run in the winter.or get the right jets for It to start and run in the cold.

Mine runs double duty year round, just different bits...

No adjustments made...

Most engines seem to run better in the cold, once they are warmed up, IMO...
