The air temp was in the mid 60's so I had to run up and check things out. All but the southwest corner, (roughly from the swimming area to the dam), is covered with funky looking rotten ice. Where there was ice it generally ran up to the shore. At Red Bridge there was about a 4 foot gap of open water. I stopped on the bridge and saw two guys fishing that small gut of open water from the bank, but didn't see them catch anything. Red bridge ramp was locked up. Same for Francis Slocum. The tail race was rather crowded as one might expect. It was the only game around. I saw one crappie caught by another guy and I got a small one. The water looked good but it took a pounding today.
