Working on fixing my carpal tunnel problem. Been bugging me for over 25 years. Can't stand it any more. Feel like a constant pin cushion. Hoping before I get released I have an opportunity to get on the ice. MAYBE?????????????????????

Drove to Cicero to golf Thursday and noticed some ponds with a little ice. Went by one today and it was still skimmed over. Whats it mean.. have no idea.

With the big temp changes from my first predictions I now revise my date to sometime in early 2020. The weather reports from media are just like all the other news we hear nowadays. Not as accurate as it should be and much more dramatized. The reality is if you want to now the truth and severity of what's going on look outside and be your own best judge of what's happening and going to happen.

The reason weather reports are so inaccurate is they are trying to predict a constantly changing phenomenon. Only Mother Nature knows what the weather will be and She's not telling!LOL They act like their  computer generated predictions are the gospel . We all know better! Hex

My personal favorite for weather predictions has been weather underground's 10-day look ahead.  It's very accurate especially with precipitation and wind direction/speed, but the best part is that it's all layed out in a line graph format. Very easy to see day-to-day trends. Plus it has a constant line marked at freezing temp, so at a glance it's very simple to determine when we'll get those really cold days. That's pretty much the only thing I pay attention to this time of year...

I hope no one is throwing rocks around that time!  I can't wait to take my livescope down there and look at those bridge piers.  Got a bunch of new spoons to try out also.

Went to the lake cottage today in K-Co and we had some ice forming along the edge a couple of inches out and one section down by the point which is protected by the woods it was froze about 6' from the shore out.  Almost all the ponds that didn't catch wind were skimmed over on the way up.  If we get the temps they say its possible to get on a couple of special places near me that don't get the wind..I'll be checking them out by mid week.

almost 3 inches here in Northern Adams County on my 3/4 acre pond.
I used to get excited about a 20 inch bass until I caught my first 40 inch dolphin.

I dipped a pond here in Jasper county tonight. And it has about 2 inches on it . But in my 10 day it's all in the 40's and close to 50 some days. I'm ready to move north where they actually have a winter

Saltwaterchangedme I'm one county over headed your way.  Your pond my be pretty protected.  Nothing that close over here in Wells Co.  If there was I'd be on it today.  A couple of days ago most of my go to early spots were still open from the wind.  It will come soon enough, maybe.  But hey I'm getting the long poles out Tues. when I get back from going away this weekend.

Made it out today, walked on 3 lakes in Steuben county.  Not thick ice but it held me and I'm far from skinny.  Be safe out there if you go.  Not safe or thick anywhere.   Got enough gills for a mess.

Got out on my pond for a couple hours this morning.  3 inches of solid clear ice.  I caught a gill and a bass in 8ft of water.  It was good to knock the dust off.  I also got to use my new Milwaukee M18 drill and Helix 7 for the first time.  I can say that I am quite pleased with both!
