Going on a ice fishing trip pretty soon here to water known for trophy musky. I know it will be tough but im going to give it a shot. Anyone have any experience or recomendations for rigs to bring? Id appreciate it. Thanks

definetly use a quick strike rig. its almost a must for muskies

A couple guys I know were catching Muskies up to 49" last year on tip ups with dead bait. Suckers and bluegills were used.

is it legal to use game fish as bait?

in mass you can you perch and sunfish as bait, idk about your area. muskies aren't nearly as active through the ice, so just use the same set up for pike and ALWAYS USE QUICK STRIKE RIGS ;D

Every state is different on what you can use for bait.

I'd be careful, the MN DNR just changed the regs on Muskie here in MN. New law says its illegal to take Muskie after December the 15th, 2007. Every year after '07 the end of the Muskie season's gonna be December 1st. That means that even if you're practicing Catch & Release, you can't pull the Muskie outta the water. Sorry, but I guess that if you want to catch some Muskellunge, you're gona have to wait until June. :(
