Great idea on the bed! I like it. One idea I have, how about adding another slot in the middle of the two you have now and adding another block and slot on the back wall up higher this way you can make a couch. Don't know if I explained myself too well. But that would add seating during the day. Good job!

Thanks Guys !!! I love building this thing...

I am going to take out the back wall in those photos and build a fold up ramp for my wheeler / side by side.
So, I am going to put another set of boards up high to store the bunk up and out of the way, until I get to "The Spot". I am also thinking about putting a set in the middle of the for a smaller cot that I have (Kind of a bunk bed deal ). I'll post photos when I get them up.

Made a little progress on the shanty last weekend.
A contractor friend had a scrap piece of counter top. Cut it down and put the trim on it. Cut the hole in it to receive the cook stove and mounted it to the wall.

The legs are temporarily there, I still need to get the carpet in before I build the small cupboard.

I installed the porch light and switch as well.

 Tuesday, the metal arrived !!!

We started putting it up tonight. One side is completed and a real good start on the other side.

It is starting to come together ....

Looking real nice as always Wyoming_Ice. Starting to take shape. I really like your bunk set up, I might think about the same route as well. Btw, do you happen to use tip-ups while fishing? Reason I ask is because I heard its a good idea to install a window at the same level that you normally sit at, keeps you from having to stand up each time just to check for "fish on", just a question sir.

Thanks Quantumn , starting to see a little light at the end of the builders tunnel  ;).
Ya I do fish w/ tip ups and I thought long and hard on the height issue. I decided to go with a higher elevation on the windows.
Knowing me, I would probably lean something against the shanty and brake the window. Besides, I really can use the exercise.... ;D

Thanks for that ID. I hope that I get to use this thing this year ???

Man I gave up along time ago on trying to keep this thing light... I am guessing somewhere around 1,000 to 1,200 lbs. I am going take it and get it weight when completed.

So... Finally made it back to the build... Crazy last two months........

I mounted the the hitch plates on the front of the skis (I will do the same setup on the rear).

I wanted to do a "test pull" with my wheeler, just to see how hard it is going to be to pull. The thing slid like it was barley there !!! Almost goes too easy. No fast hard turns for me...
I just can't believe how easy it pulls. Granted, it is in my parking lot at my parts store. But I think it will do as well on Fontenelle, The Gorge, or Boysen. Forget Viva Naughton, unless a road is plowed down and off the boat ramp.

I am amped to get busy on this thing again.

Will post more soon.

Looks really nice. Same kind of bunks i built into my first camper conversion. They were a bit on the hard side without a camping pad to soften them up a bit.
It seems to go from zero to hero all some have to do is lie.

Thanks Guys for your kind comments.
I have made some more progress on the "Ol Gal". Where to Start.....  Loaded her on my sled trailer (winched). Went pretty well. took her out to the Port of Entry to weight. 2,000 lbs pretty much on the nose.
I thought I was light on my guess of 1,200 lbs. But 2,000  ???. It is what it is, so must move on.
Here she is on the trailer.

Here is the winch mount we welded on the front floor of my trailer.

Forgot about the rest of the progress. All of the metal is on (Except for 3 pieces of j channel trim).

Solar panel installed as well. It pivots out and locks when set up for fishing.

I cut an old shop door down( Both ends) and installed it . FIT like I knew what I was doing (Ya Right). It really went well.

Got the marine carpet laid down too.

Did some trim work and started to build my little cupboard under my cook stove. I will have to take some photos tomorrow and post them.
Then Saturday rolled around and guess what???? I took her to the Ice!!!! And Fished all night and all day Sunday!!! YAHOO !!!!

The Wheeler even fit up front.

Here she is sitting on the ice ready to head out.

And these are coming off on Sunday. I forgot to take some set up shots ( I can't believe I did"t do that)...anyway here she comes off to come home. My Buddy Brian is pulling her.

I still have a few things before completed but, at least I got her out once this year.

I am pleased with the "Ol Gal".

Sorry for being so long on this one guys. I'll keep up on the posts.

That's a beaut of a shack there. I sure we could have them like that down here but they would just be the equivalent of a land yacht on ice.

Well Guys, It is time to get back to work on my "home away from home". I have decided to cut the skids off and build a drop down frame for it. It will be designed a lot like DA MANCAVE's frame. I am going to use jacks to lift the frame instead of the boat winches. I will post as I go.

Wow! That's awesome......you'll have great time fishing out of that shack....might be tough to go home after a weekend in that.
You'll love those as lanterns......they'll keep the dew off in the coldest of winter days, it's amazing how much heat they throw off, when the shack is warm you'll be able too shut the heater off and just run the lantern. A small ceiling fan with lanterns on will keep the chill out.......man I'm liking your build.....your on the right track........tight lines.

Lar.

How do load and unload your hardside?  Do you use ramps or some other method?  I saw your mention of the winch but am unsure how to load mine.

I have a ramp that tucks under my trailer while traveling. It really works pretty slick. I will take a photo next time I use the ramp.
