MacDonald Lake near Gulliver.

Hello up there :D,

I was just thinking about this lake as my parents took us up there every summer from 1972 til 1985 for 2 weeks on our family vacation. We would catch some giant jumbo perch. I heard years ago that all the resorts fell prey to developement.

How has the fishing been and are there any resorts left on Mac D, I may take my family there.

BTW : It is in Schoolcraft county, I belive, just outside of Manistique in Gulliver.

    It has been a few years since I fished this lake, but the last I knew there was some good perch and bluegills in it, pike is pretty good on tip-ups, and there is also walleye in the lake, i don't think there are any resorts left on this lake, I can post more on this lake when I get back from Christmas I will be up there then.

Thanks for the reply, any info you can get me would be great!! I'm suprised to hear there are walleye in there, as we never caught any in all those years! I do remember hearing something about perch being netted from MacDonald and relocated to Indian lake to help out the population over there, late 80's or early 90's, maybe they did a swap? I do remember the entire lake was shallow, we never had a locator, but I don't think it was more than 10'. Just a big round bowl!! I really remember the 12, 14 and 16 inch monster perch there the most.

    I never had a chance to get out on McDonald Lake because of the weather but the reports up there were no one was getting fish any were, will be back up there in Feb. hopefully I willbe able to get out there then, will keep you posted from reports from my bro.
