I am not saying it's dry but poisin bay is pretty much dry, and out around towards bad water bay is really shallow!  :'(

Drove by the lake yesterday and it was still open. some of the shallower coves are getting ice but after the wind that was blowing yesterdaythere might not be anything left.

I fished Boysen yesterday. 3" to 5" back in the bay, but the main lake was open.
It looks like they are raising the lake cause there is 5' to 10' of thin soft ice around the shore.
We got tired of breaking through so we built a bridge with a driftwood log.
It would be a good idea to bring planks or pallets to get you out to the good ice.
8 rainbows, 5 ling, 4 perch, and 2 sauger.
Not a bad start.
Good luck to all, and use caution on the new ice.

Hey WYOiceman

Was there any size to the ling or where they the typical pound to pound and a halfers?

Did you fish much after dark?
I'm heading over in the morning and will be taking my Frabill house so I can fish later into the night.
Thanks for the info on the thin ice, I think I will throw in a plank !!
Anyone know what time Walkers opens up? Thanks in advance for any info.

Later

Keep calm and return fire...

We fished from about 10 am til about 7 pm.
1 ling was a half pound baby, 3 were 1.5 to 2.5, and 1 was 4lbs.
I have no idea when Walkers opens, heck I don't even know where it's at.
Tim James is usually around early mornings.

Good luck, and let us know how you did.

Hey minnowguy,
Where is Walkers bait shop located in Shoshoni?
I'd sure like to get ahold of a few hundred fatheads for when we start getting into a ton of perch.

Hey Bill,
We were in the Fremont bay area, and all the fish were caught on tip-ups with plain old minnows.
We were fishing from 4' to 12' of water, about a foot off bottom.
Good luck and let us know how you do.

Does anyone around there sell  shiners. I know they are in the lake because Ive seen them but I didnt know if anyone carries them.  So I assume Iceman that Tim James has minnows? Its good to know that there is another place that sells them. I hated it when Tim ran out and I had to go to riverton to pick them up. Good luck with the fishing everyone.

Hey bohman,
I haven't been by Tim's place yet, cause I still have a few hundred minnows that I trapped in the ditch by my house, but I would assume that he has a bunch by now.
His phone # is 876-2349. I'd give him a call before you head this way. He's always got the best deal around.

I just got back from there, only took a ride to get away from this computer awhile, but there's about 4 1/2 inches good ice on Fremont. Guy there had a nice sauger about 4 pounds and a smaller one I'd a put back. There was a couple bo's on the ice too. But on N. Muddy there was a shanty out a few hundred yards, so I'm gussing it's fishable although after last year, I'd wait a few days before charging onto it with my 4 wheeler  ;D
