Does anyone know where the results of the Burbot Bash are posted?  Or who won?
I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Meeks/Cobb won with 135 fish. 2nd place had 102 fish, 3rd had 80something, 4th had 60something, 5th had 40something. Biggest fish was 35" around 8lbs. I have no idea on where to find the rest of the results. Maybe try the green river chamber of commerce?

Man we got our buts kicked with the fish but lots of fun being with my dad and friend. It was nice meeting some of the people by us. That's what its all about having fun.  Also caught my biggest so far at 32.5 and #6.95 so im glad about that.  Congrats to Aaron Sprecher and his team for the tagged fish.  Wish we could have made it to the last weigh in but the truck broke down right at the highway and not enough room in the other truck by the time we could have gotten the another truck it would of been to late and I needed to find a tow truck.   Who wants a 2010 dodge looks really good on the side of the road lol

Also got to try out the new stricker ice suit when I fell in it does work. Was hoping not to test it out until summer in shallow water with warmer weather.  Man I had a bad but fun weekend.

No just found a thin layer but it had another layer about six feet under the first layer.  My ranger and four wheeler stayed on the trailer.

Glad to hear that he made it out, how deep is the wheeler and how is he going to get it out?

Sad to say, but the four-wheeler that went in was a relative on my team. He went in Wednesday night, and the basic story is he found a thin spot of ice. We don't know why he didn't follow his tracks from earlier, but decided to try a different path and he's lucky he didn't die. His leg got caught on the four wheeler handles, and once he got free there was a crack in the ice that he was able to pull himself out. That four wheeler is probably at the bottom of the lake, less than 8 months old too. He didn't fish the rest of the tourney, I'm sure he's done ice fishing for some time. There were four wheelers all over the ice, even after that happened. Sorry, but I don't mind walking a mile or two a day with my float suit on, just in case I run into some bad ice.

Sorry to hear about that, and very glad he's okay! Just out of curiosity, will a 4-wheeler in that situation sink pretty quickly or do they bob around at all? Again, glad no one got heart.

Also just curious.  I know in some states if you sink a vehicle you MUST get it removed, legally speaking.

Is the same for the Gorge?  I think they do this because of the possibility of fuel pollution?

+1.

I agree w/ some of the other sentiments too that I'd prefer to walk.  To each their own certainly but I don't want myself or my wheeler becoming another statistic!  I don't mind walking a few miles.

Although mine (a few years ago) went into shallow water, it went like a bowling ball...on the bottom in a heartbeat :-\

I had a buddy that got his Bronco II high centered on a rock at Firehole in the mid 90's. He jumped out to pry it off the rock with a log. Went it came off the rock, it rolled over the cliff and sank to the bottom. G&F must have seen it, they came right over and wrote a ticket for dumping it.  He argued that he wasn't dumping it, it had his gun, fishing gear, and all of his beer in it, s it was accidental. Still got the ticket and the fines were per day until he could prove it was removed. He had to hire a barge from either Cedar Springs or Lucerne to come pull it out. Cost him 300 plus for the barge and a couple hundred for the fines, and he had it out the next day. Auto insurance refused to cover it.
The oil pollution act of 1990 allows for tickets of $50-$500 per spill per day up to $25K.

Thanks for the info.  I thought it was illegal.  A gallon of gasoline can pollute roughly 750,000 gallons of water.   I'm glad they are that strict about it... if you sink a vehicle you should get it out.

Wonder how many are not reported for fear of the fine / responsibility though.

But the wind this last week tore it all up. Big bend is now wide open again.
