Paradox lake access
« on: Feb 19, 2018, 04:12 AM »
Does anyone know the best way to access the deep water at Paradox? Looks like the best access is on the east side. Thanks.

I have not been there this year but the camp site is the only place I know.  Last year they plowed the road.

The only public access is the state campground

Thank you everyone. I took a ride up and was able to get to the boat launch, but walking that channel to the deep side didn't seem like a good idea.

correct. Especially right now with the rain and run off going on that channel would be dangerous.

How much ice was there?

I didn't even go out on it. I was hoping to try for smelt, which is why I wanted to get to the deeper side. Makes me wonder why so many people suggest Paradox for smelt if you can't access them.

Your thinking is right on.  I put my truck through the ice of the channel many years ago when there was LOTS of ice everywhere on the lake.  It's too bad there's not any public access (that I know of) on the other end of the lake.

Tight lines,
Bob

yes it is to bad same goes for eagle lake only one access point and its way up in the northern end . where the good fishing is there is no public access yet they stock thousands of browns in eagle lake and rainbows in paradox. i fished paradox for smelt a few times with a freind who had private access to the deep end. makes no sense to me to stock that many trout in waters that arnt accessible in more than one spot such as the state campground at paradox or the boat launch at eagle. long hikes for fisherman . go by eagle lake alot never see no boats and fisherman on it yet they stock lots of browns in there. plain and simple no access.

I have fished eagle many times from my bass boat. Both sides of the lake. Never had any issues getting my 20’ bass boat under the bridge.

Check out CBS Sports network, Vimeo or YouTube. I filmed a 2 part bass show on paradox and my buddy filmed a 2 part bass show on eagle. He filmed his the day before I filmed mine...

Lunkerville - cool hand luke

Lunkerville - The gambler

Both episodes have 2 parts.
