Good evening, drying out from Saturday's rain more forecast to arrive on Tuesday and following days. Reached a high in the low sixties today currently 49 as I type this post. Two recalls for your knowledge Toyota recalling a large number of  new vehicles and has halted production. Problem with gas pedal sticking even after the driver's foot has been removed from the pedal. If this happens to you while driving you can stop vehicle by depressing the brake switching transmission into neutral and then shutting off vehicle. I suggest steering onto the shoulder of road if possible and in traffic as your vehicle will come to a quick stop from the video i watched video is on CNN's website. If you have not received a recall notice from Toyota contact your local dealer or visit Toyota's website for list of car models and years involved in this recall.

After FDA testing found these eye drops not to be sterile Brassica pharmaceutical has issued a recall on 4 products found a t Walmart.CVS and other stores.

Drifter think you made the smart choice stay indoors and watch the Maple Leafs of some other Hockey.
Ice Wanderer best to Jon with his upcoming surgery and you with the doctor appointment. Glad you have internet service restored and your son has his electric service restored. Glad the downed tree did not fall on your house.
IFF may all be good with you and the family.
Hunts2long thank you for the photo as others posted may there have been no ice rescues this weekend. I'm still surprised the contest was held guess some people will choose to ignore DEC warning about questionable/unsafe ice assume their placing the logs to prevent access helps them should anyone file a lawsuit saying the state did not do enough to warn the public. May your wife be doing better a feel less tired.
Wallyworld depending on what the weather guessers say is coming on the roller coaster we should be preparing our lawn mowers and garden equipment for this years usage. Soon it will be time to take some bike rides and visit ice cream stands.
Eddie depending on where the storms out West head next many of us will be seeing plenty of rain with some possible snow. So the ground will be soft and muddy for quite some time as Spring approaches for this year. You may want to purchase a second I-pad.

May everyone have a good start to this week . keep safe, stay healthy.

Ice Fishing Maine / Re: Interesting Read... It's Not Just About Walleyes

Great post. Thanks for posting, Walleyes are going tru what our Whitefish and smelts have gone tru. When i think of all the whitefish we use to catch in Sebago, and now gone two years Moosehead the same and then later Chesuncook Caribou,Ripogenous .Lucky the acid fallout sung east and abled Allagash  water shed  to maintain some whitefish. when logging operations in north are complete they should require burning brush piles beside road so Potash would run into the water shed  lraise PH.  instead on developing more phosforus  for water shed. Lowering PH.

Last year was ok but this year was terrible for central Iowa ice. Went north early and planned to fish the heart of the season within a couple hours of home and only made it out twice…. Went north a week ago to Finish the season. Had fantastic fishing everywhere I went, still doesn’t make up for the crappy season. Already looking to next year. Head north around New Years and hopefully again the first part of March.

fishermantim, you're not alone. Last weekend, I forgot to shut my tailgate and my sled and everything slid out of the bed. Luckily, I had my auger in the back seat. I was told that my stuff was all over the street. One guy chased me down and another person and his wife picked up everything for me! Told me that the flasher did not leave the sled, Thank God!

You lucked out Rich

Thanks for the good read, Joe.  And you're right, it's not just about walleyes either.  A lot of predator-prey timing mismatches are going on.  As discussed before, watching birds can tell you a lot also. A Carolina Wren has been in my yard for weeks (way early).  They are primarily insect eaters....I doubt there is much food to go around yet.  I recorded my first redwing blackbirds of the "spring" yesterday.  The first ones didn't show up till March 12 last year.
