Calling it quits.

Too many health issues including the stroke I had in 2015 and the herniated disc in my back.
About a week ago a guy made me an offer on ALL of my ice gear and it was too good to pass up and I sold it all.....including my pac boots. This newbie really has no clue what he bought but he got a great deal. I started on DCL in the winter of 1976, fishing a few times each winter, and have some of my original tip-ups. In the winter of 1983 I kicked it in high gear and started ice fishing "seriously "until 2015. Have truly enjoyed my friends out on the ice.
I will continue to monitor this site and chime in on the discussion from time to time.
Tight lines.

I’m sorry to hear that your done. I have always enjoyed reading your posts on fishdeepcreek.com when it was still going. I have never had the opportunity to fish with you but the offer will always be open for you to join me on any ice fishing trip.

say the word and I'll come pick you up and take you out. I bought a snowmobile a few years ago and it makes it easy to hit some good spots....although, we havent really had enough ice since I bought it.....hmmmm.

Your picture of the 24" snow glazed walleye will remain one of the best all time. If you ever want to jig for a few hours just let us know. We'll prepare everything for you at an easy on/off like Brenda's Pizza.

Sorry to hear this Doug. I hope you have another hobby that you enjoy as much as hard water fishing.

Doug, I've enjoyed your fishing company over the years & your many posts on the DCL message Board. (Wish Brent would bring it back!) Like the others, just let me know if you want to go fishing. I've got about 10 palmrods now & a few 'secret' spots.
