Hey, fish finder....Canadians have more than ice, we have great fishing!!   We have
been on the ice since 5 November on some of the smaller lakes around here...Cold
Lake was good for ice before Christmas.  The fishing for lakers has been awesome,,
they have been very big and very hungry!!  Blessings on your New Year, and I hope
it brings you great fishing....sincerely.. .Littleoldlady

Now there's some fish worth showing off. I'd be on cloud 9 if I caught one that size, let alone two.

Good to see that you're out there catching em. Keep the pics coming.

Hey, we are just eating our oatmeal and heading out.  It is -19 C, not too bad,
but a blizzard warning starting later this afternoon, so we want to see
if we can get our limit by lunch  ;) ;)

Sweetie and I just got in...it is noon our time, and instead of ten pounders we caught fourteen pounders.
It is all the more challenging because in Alberta both barbed hooks and gaffs are illegal....but we love the
challenge if we keep catching like this.  I'll have the pics up as soon as we finish cleaning the fish...

I was using a white and silver bucktail jig....my Sweetie was using a small white
bucktail.....we both had awesome hits.  We use just a chunk of herring for bait...or
else we take the bait fish out of their tummies and use that the next day...both works..

I was out on Cold Lake (straddles the border between AB and SASK.)   and following the hundred foot contour..
they were biting like crazy; my husband and I got the limit in less than an hour. In fact, everyone around us brought in
good ones between 70 and 75 cm., around 10 - 14 lbs.
