Hope everyone had a productive weekend on the ice. Had a pretty wild trip out with some good friends. First light was fire & early afternoon made for a small bite window which brought a nice largemouth to hand. All fished released to be caught another day.

What it’s all about Sebago! Weather was ideal, fishing was good & we had a nice spread of hot food for breakfast and lunch. Makes the day that more enjoyable.

Days like that are far and few between when targeting water wolves. Makes you appreciate a multi fish day that much more.  I hope the mojo sticks around for a little while longer.  😁

Nice to see so many quality pike being caught this January. Indicates some thriving fisheries. Helluva job guys!

Thanks Imsafanct,  being a steward of our resources & leading by example in conserving our great fishery goes a long way.  It’s good to see these apex predators are doing well in CT. Been chasing them since I was a kid when my father took me ice fishing 25+ years ago.  Hope to pass on this tradition to my son one day.

They definitely are a beautiful fish. I haven’t taken a pike trip in some time. Seeing guys like you catching them might inspire me to do so.

Absolutely, the possibility of catching a large fish targeting pike has always intrigued me.  When that flag pops and the sight of the spool on you’re heritage laker is spinning so fast the tipup is making an audible hum it gets the blood flowing.

Thanks Thndrvlly, the stoke was super high. It’s great when your group each catches a nice fish. It’s always a joint effort, I get more satisfaction from helping another catch a nice fish. One of my good friends just moved back from the west coast, he hasn’t seen ice in a few years. It was my goal for him to get first dibs on a fish if we had the chance. Plan was successful! Lol!

Nice allotment of healthy looking fish and that they all live another day to be caught by another angler. Great job.
